Master of Arts in Education major in Basic Education Teaching English

The School of Education takes cognizance of the vision, mission, and goals of the Ateneo de Davao University in the pursuit of excellent instruction and formation, robust research, and vibrant community service. Fundamental to the objectives of the School of Education lies the formation of educational leaders and academic professionals that will the lead in fostering quality instruction, imbued with the teachings of Ignatian Spirituality and Leadership. MAED BETE offers a comprehensive curriculum designed for the teaching of the English language in the basic education with a view of developing among graduate students an in-depth understanding of language acquisition and literature and technological and pedagogical skills that will make an impact on the linguistic and cognitive development of their learners. MAED BETE students are also expected to lead the promotion of quality instruction in Mindanao and in the country. As a master’s degree in education, it serves as a specialized pathway for language education that is infused with innovation, cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in an ever-changing and dynamic contemporary society.
