Doctor of Philosophy in Education Administration major in Higher Education Administration

The program aims to prepare its graduates for management and leadership roles in education institutions that are equipped with competencies in advanced theories and concepts in educational leadership, management, or administration. Driven by the nature of the program which is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, the graduates can advance their professional development in the management of curriculum and instruction, educational research and evaluation, educational policy and advocacy, strategic leadership, and economics of education.

The core courses of the program are fundamentals in professional practice that will enable the graduates to think critically and develop a high level of analytical skills through the rigors of research. Hence, the program will help its graduates develop a sense of independence and autonomy that empower their leadership driven by data for sound and informed decision-making.

Alongside the core courses, the major courses are grounded in professional practice to enable the graduates to develop skills and competencies as an education administrator or leader or manager imbued with Ignatian Spirituality in the area of strategic leadership and planning, economics of education, management of curriculum and instruction, educational policy and advocacy, research, and other related fields.

The program develops the students to excel as sui generis and engages meaningfully by connecting the theory and practice in the area of educational leadership, management, or administration supportive for sustainable development in education. The program emphasizes the training of a graduate as a creative, innovative, and strategic educational leader or manager who will be responsible for helping transform educational institutions that do justice in diverse backgrounds and cultures and adapt leadership for an inclusive global community.
