Doctor of Philosophy in Education Administration major in Basic Education Administration

The program aims to prepare its graduates for school leadership and management roles that are equipped with competencies in advanced theories and concepts in educational leadership, management, or administration. Driven by the nature of the program which is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, the graduates can advance their professional development in strategic planning and management, financial management, research, and management of curriculum and instruction.

The core courses of the program are fundamentals in professional practice that will enable them to think critically and develop a high level of analytical skills through the rigors of research. Hence, the program will help its graduates develop a sense of independence and autonomy that empower their leadership driven by data for sound and informed decision-making.

Alongside the core courses, the major courses are grounded in professional practice to enable the student to develop skills and competencies as a school administrator or educational leader or manager imbued with Ignatian Spirituality in the area of strategic planning and management, financial management, management of curriculum and instruction, educational policy and advocacy, research, and other related fields.

The program enables graduates to excel as sui generis and engages meaningfully by connecting the theory and practice, issues, and problems in the area of school leadership, management, or administration supportive of national development. The program emphasizes the training of a graduate as a creative, innovative, and strategic educational leader or manager who will be responsible for helping transform the schools that do justice in diverse backgrounds and cultures and adapt leadership for an inclusive global community.
