The School of Education takes cognizance of the vision, mission, and goals of the Ateneo de Davao University in the pursuit of excellent instruction and formation, robust research, and vibrant community service. As the School of Education serves the educational needs of the community in promotion of language and literature teaching, MATELL responds to the demand for a comprehensive curriculum that embodies the development of literary competence and linguistic proficiency among its graduate students. Imbued with Ignatian Spirituality and Leadership, the MATELL curriculum is designed for language and literature teachers in the basic education and tertiary level, teachers who are also entrepreneurs in the field of language instruction and learning, and academic administrators and practitioners in the private and public schools. As sui generis leaders, MATELL graduates are expected to lead the promotion of quality instruction in Mindanao and in the country.
