The Master of Science in Biology (Academic Track) at Ateneo de Davao University offers two specialized tracks: the Medical Biology Track and the General Biology Track. This graduate program equips students with advanced knowledge in fundamental areas of biology while fostering their ability to stay updated with new developments in science and technology. With a total of 33 units, the curriculum includes 15 units of core courses—Advanced Microbiology, Advanced Systematics, Advanced Cell and Molecular Biology, Advanced Genetics, and Ignatian Leadership—along with 9 units of specialization courses, 3 units of cognate courses, and a 6-unit thesis.

The program emphasizes computational methods, experimental design, and data analysis in biological research, preparing students to address pressing global challenges such as climate change, food security, biodiversity loss and habitat destruction (Conservation Biology), emerging infectious diseases and public health crises (Epidemiology), and the integration of indigenous and modern healthcare practices (Traditional Medicine). Additionally, students must publish at least one research article in a peer-reviewed journal to complete the program.
